J.R. Rees Ministries was founded in January 1997 and established out of Dixmoor Apostolic House of Prayer under the leadership of Bishop Freddie Hill in Dixmoor, IL. Young in the ministry, Minista Josh has made a great impact on various faith based ministries through out the nation while ministering to even non faith based companies through motivational speaking and inspirational singing. The drive of this ministry is to reach the world through the preached word of God and through the songs of praise and worship to God that uplift the hearts of people. Now under the sheparding of Rev. Dr. J.C. Wade Jr., Pastor of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church of East Chicago, Indiana, since 2003, J.R. Reese Ministries is thriving like never before and holding fast to the word of God. Minista Josh is married to Mrs. Felecia Harrell-Reese, along with 5 beautiful children that are active in ministry as well.

Min. Joshua R. Harrell-Reese Sr is founder and executive director of J.R. Reese Ministries. Min Joshua, also known as "Minista Josh", is a preacher of the gospel that has evangelized throughout the United States. This worshiper never loses touch with the foundations of traditional music but yet broadens his ministry to all genre of christian music. Minista Josh earnest desire is to touch the heart of God while ministering in preached word and song. He is an dynamic singer, director, arranger and writer and has minister across the nation. Minista Josh is a new up and coming christian artist with the release of his first single entitled "Bless That Wonderful Name of Jesus" in August 2008. He is also a new author of 2 how to series books entitled, "How To Direct" and "How To Stay Saved". Minista Josh is an associate minister and the minister of music at the Zion Missionary Baptist Church of East Chicago, Indiana where his pastor is the Rev. Dr. J.C.
